Maya Sorvala is a student from San Diego, California. Growing up with a strong and creative passion, art was always in the picture. Specifically, traditional painting. Her Sophomore year of high school is when she began her first official art class and from there, the love for the childhood hobby grew and grew. Maya's AP Drawing submission (12 oil paintings) was amongst the top 1.21% of AP submissions to receive a perfect score. With this knowledge, Maya was sure that she'd pursue a career in fine arts... until something else clicked. What about the video game industry? So, Maya moved alone to Vancouver at 18 to seek out this newly sought desire. The one year intensive Game Art and Design program at Vancouver Institute of the Media Arts proved that Maya was truly invested in bringing her 2D works to life through 3D modeling. She is looking forward to growing her skills and knowledge from here.
